Ariana Grande

Ariana Grande-Butera,/,a.ri'a.n@ 'gra?ndeI/ ARIEAH-n@ GRAHN,day;[note 1,born on 26 June 1993), is an American performer, songwriter, and actress. The four-octave range of her voice and signature use of whistle registers are highly acclaimed by the both critics and the media. Grande has been awarded numerous times throughout her career including two Grammy Awards and one Brit Award. She also took home three American Music Awards, three Billboard Music Awards and nine MTV Video Music Awards.

Grande's musical career began at 15 years old with the Broadway musical "13". She rose to fame for portraying Cat Valentine in the Nickelodeon television series Victorious (2010-2013) and Sam & Cat (2013-2014). Grande signed with Republic Records in 2011 after the label's executives watched YouTube videos of her covering songs. Grande's 1950s-doo-wop-influenced R&B and pop debut album"Yours Truly (2013) was a hit and landed in the top ten spot on the US Billboard Hot 100. The album was instantly being compared to Mariah Carey's duet voice and whistle register.

The third and second studio albums, My Everything (2014) and Dangerous Woman (2016), continued her exploration into pop and R&B. My Everything tried EDM, and was a huge success thanks to the hit singles "Problem", Break Free and "Bang Bang" as well as Dangerous Woman was her first of four consecutive number one albums in the UK. Sweetener (2018), as well as Thank U, Next (2019) was her fifth and fourth studio albums, respectively, which featured trap music. Both albums were both critically and commercially highly acclaimed. Sweetener earned her the Grammy Award for Best Pop Vocal Album and Thank U, Next set a record for the most streamed week for a pop album and was nominated for Album of the Year. Grande became the first solo artist to make it to the top three spots on the Hot 100 and become the first woman to be awarded the top position in the UK Singles Chart with the singles "Thank U. Next", "7 Rings" and "Break up with Your Girlfriend. Grande broke the Hot 100 record for the highest number-one debuts by debuting Justin Bieber's collaboration of "Stuck with U" with Lady Gaga. The latter was awarded the Grammy Award for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance. Grande took on trap music with her sixth studio album Positions (2020) with the result that both the album's title track as well as the album's first single debuted at #1 in the UK. In 2021, she teamed up with The Weeknd on the remix of "Save Your Tears", which earned her her sixth US number-one single.
